Distant Faces

            – etched on my mind –

 There are traces
 From prior times,
 Of distant faces
 Etched on my mind,
 That stay forever
 Hence so adorn,
 A place of musing
 Where past ground,
 Be worth pursuing
 Tho but a semblance,
 Might now be found…

 As memories falter
 Thus in mind’s eye,
 Imaginings alter
 And fall beyond,
 Familiar places
 Of aging optimism,
 In mature zeal
 Be timeless isms,
 Scarcely notes real
 With fading traces,
 Of now distant faces…

 Tho wishful thinking
 Could yet show trace,
 That offers an inkling
 Alludes to per chance,
 A faint hint of passing
 Mightn’t ye remember,
 Enough of such places
 May outlive December,
 Has ye find the more,
 Of now held distant faces!

“ Ordinary People ” ~ keep planet alive ~

If we’re to survive

Thus on this earth,

In a world less alive

Has need of rebirth,

Be ordinary people

With zeal of worth,

That renders viable

A means to unearth,

Find rescue remains

Save suffer the worst,

Holds be not in vain

Or deride mans thirst,

To keep planet alive…

So forego do-gooders

Along with currency

For self aggrandizers,

A claimer’s summery

Of deceitful attribute,

To overlook history

Of evil distribute,

Destroying the many

A concern uninhibited,

Held by people of plenty…

Alas look for people

Of coordinate kind,

Be ordinary people

With a planet in mind!

“ Raison d’Être ” ~ by design ~

You plough

Through life

At first uncertain

Of the reason,

You learn endeavour

Not sure of purpose

For its season,

Then search

The darkness

With youthful zeal,

For meaning

‘Twould serve

To understand,

By what design

Life holds a measure

Of raison d’être…

Now you’ve gone

Journey beyond,

Inclined you pause,

If you’re to find

A worthy cause,

With or without

Said raison d’être!
