A Little More Time

A Little More Time

 – if but to mark mine –

A little more time
To recall a mood
I’d left behind,
When early in life
If but mark mine,
To allow for strife …

A little more time
To live with candour,
Discover my other,
Whom I’d forsaken
In visions of grandeur…

A little more time
To shake free of talk
That life offers blindly,
Overriding the clock…

A little more time
To share a measure
Of neglected kindness,
And taste the pleasure
Of compassionateness…

A little more time
To recapture the scent
Of evocative memories,
With all of their follies
Life chose to be meant
If need be to mark mine!

“ Beginnings ”

            – goal not forever –

In the beginning

Declared be alive,

Tho not forever

We’re to survive,

Save a few clever

Perhaps the wiser,

Saw worth persist

Held more aware,

Said of beginnings

As life finds decide,

What be goal’s fare

If one bids to abide…

So be of mans mind

To begin with sway,

With resolve to find

Aims fashion to play,

Seeks incite revision

In road of life’s way,

Want alter its vision

Holds be a short stay,

The while not eternal

And goals not forever,

Would sidestep its end

As man aches to suspend!

Just to let you know that I have been honoured by Francina of Poetry and Art, who a few days ago, published my poem ‘The Way Home’ on her post…

” The Way Home “

            – looking for the road –

I’d moved on

For reasons vague,

Like vision fades

For bygone days,

Where but a trace

Of puerile dreams,

For untried place

Fashioned a need,

That time in wait

Might so achieve,

An understanding

Not yet discovered,

Wants one explore

Afore life quenches

That thirst to roam,

Till years suggest

Look for the road,

Leads the way home!

“ The Artist ” ~ would fashion vision ~

From the artist

Comes an impulse,

That gives birth,

To want explore

That which expresses,

A creative singularity…

Be block of marble

Carved to find shape

Wouldst release soul…

A stretch of canvas

Begs for colour bold

Hence to explore

Story pleads be told…

Indite to so compose

Words writer means

Create a picture,

Of vibrant telling

To fashion visions,

Man can so imagine…

And when deed be done

Though then long gone,

They’ve left our world

A culturally better one!

.

“ Feeling Safe ” ~ a whimsical vision ~

I’d envisioned

A place of peace,

There to stay

Beyond reach,

Of man’s greed

And insatiable needs,

Yet thus conceived

Gives cause concern,

Want feeling safe

Holds hard to place

This peaceful scene,

Now seems a dream

Of whimsical vision!

“ A Woman’s Mind ” ~ a place of acuity ~

There’s a place

In their minds

Said acuity,

To see man’s face

Holds innate beauty

Tho ravaged by time,

While one  envisions

Viewing that state

Of craggiest cavities

May offer profundity,

One but surmises

That visage now mine

Laced of life’s crossings,

Somewhat serpentine

Be far from engrossing,

Tho eyes chose enhance

With compassion defined,

By a kind woman’s mind!
