“ A Hyphenated World ”

                   – held fitting guise –

‘Tis a fitting guise

A hyphenated world,

Of hyphenated people

Barely joined together,

By shortest of lines

Save in desperate times,

If but to stay alive

Until next apprise,

Holds indefinite man

If he is to survive,

Until discord subsides

Tho wanting to encage

He’ll once more fractionize,

By manipulating stage…

In a language to divide

That largely means create

A hyphenated bide,

Trusted so to populate

Heedless of unwise,

Words fixed to engage

By language brigade,

Who spreads confusion

Among the lesser wise,

Maximize demand

To maintain disguise,

Of the hyphenated men

Who power world divides!

“ Memories ” ~ worth the keep ~

So many memories

Worth the keep,

Tho there be many

Begs a clean sweep,

For those held evoke

Leads one to wallow,

In recollects thin

Bordering hollow,

Or colours memory

Of near wilting age,

Yet wants a fellow

Bides to engage,

In worthy recalls

Before time shades,

What gave life a stage!

                                                             ode to year 2013

“ Perchance ” ~ magnanimous ~

In an effort

To be bold

I may’ve lost

The whole,

For now but feel

The cold,

And suddenly

I cogitate on old,

As tho too soon

Death perchance

Is trying to take hold…

Whilst we’ve to pay

Life’s wage to play,

Albeit times more

Than bargained for

The risk we take,

That fate may grant,

To suffer fools

Or bold lost souls,

If memory serves

Said fate per se

Magnanimous,

Be not its chosen way!
