The Sounds

  – of nature –

Listen to audio

I can remember
Hearing the sounds,
Till late September
Most to be found,
Echoes near all
Held us spellbound,
Yet soon to recall
To be put aground,
For shy of enthrall
Be mans contrives,
Wouldst thus anoint
With noise devised,
Beyond human point
To render us deaf,
He’d fashion disjoint
What life has left,
Of the lullaby sounds
Once natural to nature!

“ Silence ” – for gratuitous reason –

Silence video picture IMG_3271 copy  Listen to audio

“ Silence ”

                – for gratuitous reason –

Why must I bide
To hear but sounds
Of silence,
At times a virtue
Now but a chide,
Thus weary I be
Ever waiting
On verbosity,
That might reflect
A hint of life…

Might I propose
In shades betwixt,
Effort compose
To so thus fix,
The emptiness
Of inert silence,
And the tedium
Of verbose prolix…
A word or more
I so implore
Even neath
The aural norm,
Albeit to tease
In lieu of please,
To save from silence
Held for gratuitous reason!

“ In A Dream ” ~ nightmarish ~

In a dream

Nightmarish,

Holds initiate

Of scary scenes,

That exacerbate

Vile screams,

Meant to alarm

A fertile mind,

As to expose

Ominous time,

Of foul bellows

Would so extend

To reach beyond,

Such eerie sounds

Dream begs to end!

ode to a child I knew
