Butterflies

– by the bye

Not incidental
We butterflies,
Ever so gentle
Yet by the bye,
As ornamental
To human eye,
Will so trample
Reasoning why,
Be florae ample
Ye soon realize,
Holds butterfly
Reach to offer life,
Or graces the sky
As fitfully dancing,
Be fulfilling his bye
The while ambling by!

“ The life of Butterfly ”

         – be caterpillar’s fate –

There be a time

Chrysalis soon,

Needs to forget

Life isn’t tuned,

Pain fails beset

Nor be immune,

Suffer progress

Metamorphosis,

Feels be regress

In awkward state,

Of primary stage

Be caterpillar fate,

It dons final phase

Of innate crawling,

To find taking flight…

I may have wished

‘Twould so remain,

Thus circumspect

Sheltered from rain,

In cocoon darkness

Tho bar delighting,

In early morn sun

A colourful ravager,

Who once could see

At leaf perspective,

When as a butterfly

Explores new birth,

From watch on high,

Now a ravaged earth

Thru sad tearful eye,

From fugacious berth

In wilted summer sky,

Once caterpillar’s fate

All the while reflecting,

On the life of butterfly!

“ Butterfly, Butterfly ”

                        – fluttering bye –

Butterfly, butterfly

Leisurely floating

Dressing the sky,

Fitfully dancing

Shifted by currents

In breezes on high,

Ever so pleasing

You thus advent

Gently trapezing,

Yet softly you fly…

Butterfly, butterfly

Fluttering bye

Your beauty defies,

Wonder exemplified

On wings so grand,

And of such splendour

To make rainbows pale,

In light of your colours…

Butterfly, butterfly

When summer is low

Too soon you must go,

So where will you fly

To bring life elsewhere,

That offers but sorrow

When you leave our sky,

Butterfly, butterfly

Alas but oh why,

Must your beauty then die!

A Butterfly ode to they who diligently

work to prevent the extinction of

                                                            fellow creature, the Lepidoptera…

“ Clouds for Dreaming ” – of ethereal things –

DSCN5848  Listen to audio

On a whim I can fly

In a dream,

As I soar on wings

It thus seems,

Of ethereal things

Be a flight so real,

The ascent I can feel…

As I ride on the wind

I hear Zephyr sing,

Yet could not tell

If it spoke of Phoenix,

And his trip to hell

When rashly he’d fly,

Which I’ll ne’er risk

As so high he did fry,

For my soaring is fixed

In the dream I so fly…

Now on billowy clouds

Soft feathery things,

Their gentle pull bides

The while one clings,

To this surreal ride

Said fabric for dreams,

That dresses the skies,

In clouds made for dreaming!

“ Solaris ” ~ in shades abyss ~

Sun must be shy

As he’ll not look

Me in the eye,

Nor will he soar

As had before,

We ruined his sky…

He may ne’er more

Want light our way,

We who fouled

His heaven’s air,

Spewing waste

Corrupting space,

Once known safe

In a world gone grey,

As Solaris fades away…

Alas the keepers

Have ignored,

Desperate shouts

Of world untoward,

Solaris suffers

Shades abyss,

Thus can but move

To light another place,

Leaving shadows

Till dark be  fate,

Would end mankind

Starved of Solaris face!

“ Reflexions ” ~ of a butterfly ~

There be a time

To thus forget,

Pain would beset

Life’s burden set

To metamorphosis,

All not immune

To melee of egress,

Thru primal stage

Of intrinsic crawling,

Till that of taking flight…

I may have wished

Primordial remains,

Of furry ravager

Held caterpillar

But butterfly be my aim,

Watching from on high

With lepidopteran view,

In wilting summer’s sigh

Sipping morning dew,

The while in reflexion,

Upon world’s progression

Neath a solstice sky,

Life  chose I’d be a butterfly!
