Shadows – where faces hide –

Listen to audio

Shadows
         - where faces hide -

In time dawn’s shadow
Would dim the cruelty,
A face deemed bide
From its carved path,
Will transmute hide
Said nature’s trap,
For wind burnt flesh
That reads like brail,
Or weathered mesh
On skin humanly frail,
Finds soon be paired
To rock-strewn canyons,
Reflection of a dire face
As pain unravels memory,
Of its passing shadows
Hence where faces hide,
Among phantoms of the past
Where these faces did emerge!

“ Solaris ” ~ in shades abyss ~

Sun must be shy

As he’ll not look

Me in the eye,

Nor will he soar

As had before,

We ruined his sky…

He may ne’er more

Want light our way,

We who fouled

His heaven’s air,

Spewing waste

Corrupting space,

Once known safe

In a world gone grey,

As Solaris fades away…

Alas the keepers

Have ignored,

Desperate shouts

Of world untoward,

Solaris suffers

Shades abyss,

Thus can but move

To light another place,

Leaving shadows

Till dark be  fate,

Would end mankind

Starved of Solaris face!

“ An Image ” ~ in shades and shadows ~

I see an image,

Once hidden

In shades,

And shadows

Meant hide

Worrying age,

Be now a clear visage

Free of held habit,

And enduring baggage

Of onerous adage,

Finds burden we carry

Like unwanted weight

Of rapacious feed,

Shapes image needs

For shades and shadows!
