Autumn Leaves

– on a shivery eve –

As autumn leaves,
Shadows fall
On a shivery eve,
While mind recalls
Obscuring shades,
I’m made to feel
While vista fades,
A summer’s peal
Nature betrays,
Once sun filled days…
Thus autumn leaves
My soul behind,
A summer hostage
Of plead declined
To keep alive
Fair weather skies,
And butterflies …
Soon winter’s blast
Will cast a haze,
To chase the last
Of autumn days,
And scattered leaves
When Frost said Jack,
Will come awake
In a world near grey,
To soon blustery wakes…
Tho I’d turn back
Fall season’s clock,
Nature chose cold
As its mortal mock,
To oblige Thanatos
Who will now wrest,
Fall season’s soul
As autumn leaves,
To soon make way
For a winter’s hold!

“ The Art of Aging ” – man’s eschatology –

“ The Art of Aging ”

            – man’s eschatology –

 Age has you feel
 The consequence,
 Of thinned conceal
 By a starved brush,
 Upon your person
 Wants but to instil
 A sense of rush,
 The while reward
 Be to lay shades,
 In wisdom’s colours
 On its aging canvas
 Begs innate candour...

 Thus so you know
 Life lends redress,
 To shadowed greys
 Of life’s excesses,
 Will shape in part
 What age expresses...

 Hence of bold lines
 Carved so by time,
 Some even apropos
 Meant not unkind,
 To one’s tableaux
 That age defines,
 While time directs
 You suffer decline,
 Yet holds respect
 For the art of aging,
 Alas be man’s eschatology!

“ I Am The Colour ” – of human disorder –

“ I Am The Colour ”

                    – of human disorder –

I am the colour

Of human disorder,

That shades the stay

Of man made suffer,

While held at bay

Be cause of such pallor,

In ominous way

With spurious cover,

Feigning fair play

To thus be so coloured,

With doubtful recover

For fated mankind,

Bears not colour’s assign…

I an the colour,

Of human disorder!

“ The Child In Me ” – held shades of used to be –

images-1  Listen to audio

The Child In Me

           – held shades of used to be –

Though many say

He’s but a shadow,

Held shades

Of used to be,

I play their game

But truly feel,

He’s still the same

The child in me…

Some even doubt

He still be there,

And more maintain

I am for naught,

The child is gone,

My hopes are fraught

With dreams

Of used to be…

But I say not,

I know the child

Yet lives in me,

And always must

As part of man,

From birth

Until that day

We turn to dust…

It matters not,

Though but a shade

Of used to be,

I know it’s him,

And so insist

He still exists

The child in me!

“ Conjugated People ” ~ by shade ~

People are played

To lend disorder,

Sorted by shade

Ranked in colour,

Thus to persuade

Reluctant objectors,

Thence to dissuade

They who so claim,

Black white or other

Meant be the same,

Yet ignore brothers

Made suffer in vain,

A hand that fosters

Segregationist game,

To ostracize druthers

While man plays blind,

To coloured skin cause

Gives marginalized time,

And its racists’ applause

Conjugates them by shade,

Fixed in fellowman’s mind!

oh to find survive, as a one people world,

                                                         with a rainbow coloured spine!

“ Colour Me Human ” ~ in the colour of life ~

Colour me human

Be her ambition

In world to imbue,

With exacting will

Wants vibrant hue,

Says ‘tis reflection

Of colours be true,

In shades held free

Save colour of blue,

Wouldst imply sad

Begs colour renew,

In the colour of life

Be the colour of you…

So colour me please

That I hypothesize,

To accept with ease

I’ll find empathize,

Fading life shades

May not so apprise,

We’ll soon turn blue

In a dank shady haze,

Not colour you chose

To best colour me too!

“ Yesteryears ” ~ shades of foggy grey ~

The image alters

To blur the scene

I effort reminisce,

Yet barely feel

Its familiar kiss,

Brush the mind

That finds to hear,

A voice given life

To what appears

Be now unclear,

Yet distinct enough

To witness thus,

Time’s cruel crags

Sculpt its regress,

Sufficient to recall

Days no longer near,

I’d so held dear,

While time alas chose

I’m to witness its decay,

Turn shades of foggy grey,

Where archives yesteryears!

“ A Memorable Stay ” ~ shades of an instant ~

You’ll find a bend

In the road ahead,

Should you intend

Muse in its stead,

Thus so to ponder

If you have stock,

Suffice grants a stay

Affords a fading clock,

Extends reach yonder…

If fate finds lend

This road gives way,

To live beyond

Prescribed advent,

Thinks worth amend

To this found journey,

Held a memorable stay

Though an hour or a day,

Portend shades of an instant!

“ Searching ” ~ for an alter ego ~

Searching ever so

For an alter ego,

As one not long ago

Feigned to have been

Was found to be a foe,

A possible doppelgänger

Whose ruse made find

The now and then

Had shades of idle time,

Did cagily fix to lend

A way to render bind,

If but to hide pretend

The making of a friend!
