A Little More Time

A Little More Time

 – if but to mark mine –

A little more time
To recall a mood
I’d left behind,
When early in life
If but mark mine,
To allow for strife …

A little more time
To live with candour,
Discover my other,
Whom I’d forsaken
In visions of grandeur…

A little more time
To shake free of talk
That life offers blindly,
Overriding the clock…

A little more time
To share a measure
Of neglected kindness,
And taste the pleasure
Of compassionateness…

A little more time
To recapture the scent
Of evocative memories,
With all of their follies
Life chose to be meant
If need be to mark mine!

Painting A Mind

– shadows dark –

Be hollows stark
Painting a mind,
In shadows dark
To survive time,
Be need of world
Best ne’er blind,
As creatures we
Given short line,
Expecting future
Soon fades offline,
Will want a tutor
For make believe,
Set as fake humans
Be computer achieved,
Save a life’s meagre race
Holds no reason to grieve,
With compos mentis in place
Ye ought find painting a mind
Seeks not dark shadows embrace!

People

      – in last resort –

It’s about space
As tho one’s life,
Be without waste
Nor cause of strife,
Wants but embrace
Fate’s meagre slice,
For disparaged people
Of need more than twice,
Found arrive in last resort
Assume realize its paradise,
Tho to find not be meant retort
But for people with a pair of dice,
Do for good or bad, end in last resort!

Alive at Stake

 – in futile haste –

It ought count
Tho ye be late,
By the amount
We deliberate,
Given account
In futile haste,
Of tantamount
To a gale waste,
And life be cast
As to expediate,
The useless sass
Need find erase,
Fixes mind blur
Till ye learn way,
Set plan deferred
Wants obviate play,
The while alive at stake
Realizes ne’er too late,
To preclude futile haste!

A Craggy Shell

            – begs not dispel –

How can one tell
If still of need,
Man’s craggy shell
Near gone to seed,
Suggests farewell
And denies plead,
Begs not dispel
The while he lives,
May find to dwell
Where soul outlives,
Said craggy shell
Tho mayn’t forgive,
Portends bordering hell!

 Validating
            - an aging mind -

 From apropos
 to ye ought know,
 would that we find
 the how to slow,
 an aging mind...

 Yet far from reign
 these gods that play,
 our heads in game
 be mindless way,
 need feign shame
 from apropos,
 to ye ought know
 afore ‘tis time,
 Too soon will show!

                       A mindful raison d’être...

“ The Gift ” – of you – revisited

IMG_3243   Listen to audio

“ The Gift ”

                 – of you –

I want not to forget

Fail having tried,

Or simply accept

I’ve reason to regret,

Mindful so I could

Be able to affect,

Without need to try

As if I could deny,

Our love grew beyond

You being easy on the eye…

I wanted to recall,

The times you tried

Offering your all,

And I too blind to see

Might’ve realized,

You so needed me,

As I you even more

Tho the gift offered,

I ne’er realized before

Had always been of you …

Doesn’t tax one’s memory

To recall there’d been many,

But none the worth, if any

Yet didn’t know enough

I’d the gift of you to hold,

But only now can tell

When grown wiser old,

While you, now too long gone

Be the gift, for someone else to hold!

” The Way Home “

            – looking for the road –

I’d moved on

For reasons vague,

Like vision fades

For bygone days,

Where but a trace

Of puerile dreams,

For untried place

Fashioned a need,

That time in wait

Might so achieve,

An understanding

Not yet discovered,

Wants one explore

Afore life quenches

That thirst to roam,

Till years suggest

Look for the road,

Leads the way home!

“ A Place ” ~ in the sun ~

One lives in need

Of a place,

Held be in the sun

For its life giving face,

Tho risks of burn

In sun’s solar run,

We mightn’t discern,

Its perilous pace

Has us suffer pain,

Sparing no place

In spite of the rains,

He’ll find to embrace

Any ones face

Who dares overstay,

For sun, will have its way!

“ The Gift ” ~ of you ~

I want not forget

Fail having tried,

Or simply accept

I chose regret,

Mindful that I could

Rather than affect,

Without need to try

As tho I could deny,

The times you tried

As I you even more

And none as worth if any,

But only now can tell

When I am wiser old,

And you’re now gone,

A gift for someone else to hold!
