We followed heroes
That weren’t,
They who sent boys
In their stead
To get burnt,
Maimed, lamed
Or wretchedly dead…
We follow cowards,
Who professed
To undo the mess,
Of affluent power
Held un-confessed,
Orchestrators
Of partisan-fests,
Only to find
They heroed us blind,
To pocket what’s yours
And what’s mine…
Yet we the naive
Follow heroes that aren’t,
Who cause us grieve,
The while charade
Fixing the morrows,
To incarnate their masquerade!
Of man we hoped
While we ignored,
The dark side
Of this being,
Thus would suffer
His betrayal,
Whilst he misused
Our naïve trust,
Hence so bestowed
He’d fail be worthy,
Held higher mortal…
Granitic he levels neath
The surface of intent,
An immoral creature
Of life form pitiable,
That but abuses
The innocent beguiled,
Fellow mortals
Who for the while
Find this being,
A peerless creature
Chosen to elect as leader,
To blindly go on trusting!
‘Tis said of man
The libertine,
Be morally moot
Of noble mind,
And wily so to boot
Will disabuse,
With wanton use
Maids who trust,
Would so dare
Gratify his lust,
Whilst he believes
His actions prove,
He idolized
Those he misused,
In varied guise…
Hence naïve women
Unmindful thus,
Will soon fall prey
To his devise,
If chance they must
Dare be in reach,
When he’ll enchant
To mesmerize,
For decadence
He’ll exercise,
On gentle mind
Or femme fatale,
Who be so careless
They be lured,
By the disguise
Of libertine,
The morally moot
Of noble mind!
Emotions
For who venture,
To cause disorder,
In naïve people’s soul!
There be a time
Man believed,
The Machiavellian
Twisted mind,
Tho by and by
He edified,
His naïve belief
In guileful beings,
Waged employees
Of the electorate,
Known as politicians
Who would so dupe,
A trusting populace…
Thus dictionary tells
Politician be defined,
With a flattering say
Is that of schemer,
Who tries to gain
A sly advantage,
In underhanded way…
Hence fit homology
For false egalitarian,
We credulous spirits
Naïvely trust as true,
Offers that of polluter
As reference relevant,
To expose immorality
Of these odious beings,
I coin a name for thee
Pollutician, ye now be!
