The Meal

– to follow

Francisco de Goya, Saturno devorando

The Meal
        - to follow -

If you’re to choose
The meal to follow,
You shall ne'er lose
Or find too shallow,
Nor the while be late
As to claim didn't know,
That meal you're to find
Wouldst taste but sorrow,
As world ogres want dine,
On repas that means you
Save one should awaken
To manage draw said line,
Which renders man shaken
Hence forever a lasting time,
Held so to ne’er again be taken
By the likes of the troll creatures,
Who'd hold claim to being human!

                             ode to Russia’s ogre,
                                  presently, Vladimir Putin…

The Cane

Listen to audio

– held in hand –

Thus, as I walk
With the cane,
Held in hand
As to saunter,
While I amble
A strewn land,
Hence yet able
From err I stand,
For the moment
Recourse idle,
A while resting
Tho rather sidle,
My weary bones
Next to Puccini,
Lean on a cane
Thus, for a while,
Giacomo is again
Where I now stand!

A Probing

– held thought –

A probing
Held thought,
That questions
Ones own,
Be but of worth
Should it reflect,
That which
Ye have sewn!

Butterflies

– fluttering bye –

A butterfly
Searching
Blossoms,
Pursuing
The mote
To provide,
Held florae
Need of alive
Ye find dote,
On their array
Hence to adorn
Tho its short stay,
Be of iffy longevity
Not butterfly’s say,
Dancing in brevity…

Pushed by currents
He floats consciously
On breezes apparent,
While ever so mindful
Found be lepidoptera,
With beauty’s warrant
Would remain pleasing,
Thru a short summer fly
Has butterflies trapezing,
All the while fluttering bye!
Ode to butterflies, that they maybe forever…

If Truth Be Told – how then discern –

Listen to audio

If Truth Be Told
	- how then discern -
If truth be told
Will it yet reach,
Its vision worthy
Of ether entreat,
Not bent in guile
Of vitiate deceit,
Yet who’s to say
Man didn’t teach,
The gods’ sly way
Thus so to breach,
How then discern
Of which we speak,
Thus be held truth
Or but failed preach,
Aimed credible to hold
Tho history has its doubt,
If man’s veiled truth be told!

Image
     - you see -

May not ere be
If ne’er ye find
An image to see,
In fact ‘tis of ye
As short set time,
Despite of a plea
For annals define,
Be vacant you see
Of destined life be!
Imagining
     - persona said whole -

Risks find exterior
Not imagining be,
A creation inferior
Albeit melds just,
Held modestly bold
May not be an image
Of persona said whole!

Imaging
         - fixed impression -

In one’s reflection
A mirrored façade,
Of fixed impression
Has one soon wonder,
What he will envisage
Of neoteric squander,
Thru lifetime’s ravages
Of reality faced imaging!

“ Conversations ”

– with me, myself and I –

I am curiously held aware,

Being conscious of converse

That it’s natural to beware,

In an age amorally perverse

Where humankind despairs,

Of conversations so adverse

Suggesting interest to be fair,

Yet holds intent to be averse…

Tho it be of and by myself

I fancied be a person free,

That which finds dominate

A better part of early me,

That ideates a perfect fate

To fill the emptiness I see,

In dreams imaging awake

Conversely so I want to flee…

A time knew of not be fast

Nor forcing to make haste,

Or find way to further last

In concert with moral taste,

Whose worth wouldst cast

The value of contented state,

While forgetting not the past

To help shape avert mistakes,

In conversations that will task

Beyond with me, myself and I!

“ Inadvertency ” – a lapse of memory –

“ Inadvertency ”

– a lapse of memory –

 Mindful, be unforeseen
 That memories will fail,
 Hopeful not to extreme
 For fear of minds derail,
 In a posit made sombre
 Thus be forever fraught,
 From a lapse of memory
 Errant as to be brought,
 By its narrated stumble
 Be of words gone awash,
Has one in a new bubble
 Giving notions to curse,
 Aired not as a mumble
 Views now but adverse,
Left to exist in a jumble...

 ‘Tis sad state of decline
 All the while you watch,
 Feel its thought melting
 As a reoccurred botch,
 That a word will mend
 Holds cause be reborn,
 Extant failure finds end
 Tho ye suffer self scorn,
 Despite held to append...

 Whilst pained to so find
 An apprise of words lost,
 Tells of old fails conveyed
 Wants inadvertency tossed!

                       ode to over worked minds...

Distant Faces

            – etched on my mind –

 There are traces
 From prior times,
 Of distant faces
 Etched on my mind,
 That stay forever
 Hence so adorn,
 A place of musing
 Where past ground,
 Be worth pursuing
 Tho but a semblance,
 Might now be found…

 As memories falter
 Thus in mind’s eye,
 Imaginings alter
 And fall beyond,
 Familiar places
 Of aging optimism,
 In mature zeal
 Be timeless isms,
 Scarcely notes real
 With fading traces,
 Of now distant faces…

 Tho wishful thinking
 Could yet show trace,
 That offers an inkling
 Alludes to per chance,
 A faint hint of passing
 Mightn’t ye remember,
 Enough of such places
 May outlive December,
 Has ye find the more,
 Of now held distant faces!

“ They Walk Alone ” in a faceless world –

Listen to audio

“ They Walk Alone ”

             – in a faceless world –

 They walk alone
 On crowded streets,
 These vacant beings
 Suffering defeat,
 Trudging on feelings
 Found bittersweet,
 Despite bewilderment
 Held negated souls,
 In constant lament
 For the cadence holds,
The bulk of a life spent
 On their weary feet,
 As human refuse
 On a deathly beat,
 Who seek refuge
 In a mingy world replete…

 Routed in despair
 Most lay in wait,
 For their decay
 To transfer hells,
 While with false hope
 These human shells,
 Pray fate awakes
 Would thus impel,
 And so reach out
 Hence fore too late,
 When they’ll arrived
 At fated final hell,
 Yet so to walk alone
 Thus in a faceless world!

                 A nudge on today’s world...
