“ Of A Horse ” ~ in the rain ~

I ponder the lot

Of a horse,

Who has caught

Endless days

In the rain,

How he must feel

To suffer its bane,

As he ingests grass

In meadows too wet,

That verges morass

Nature chose beset,

On pasture he links

To life giving fests,

While hunger persists

Thus imaged bethinks

In this life he submits,

Fails to be in the pink!

“ Persistence ” ~ beyond bounds ~

An endless sound

Of hissing resounds,

Persistently,

In ones weary skull…

Perverse echoes

Find to devise

In a mind resigned,

The means to survive

A state that confounds,

One forced to listen

Beyond humane bounds,

Said tinnitus to suffer

In its hell bent surrounds!

“ Mindful of Time ” ~ for endless days ~

If I could slow

The pace,

My mind

So takes in haste,

Wouldst shorten so

The race,

Allowing life fair taste…

Thus I should pine

Days be as when,

A child then

Could barely wait

For long day’s end,

Whereas I’m now

Mindful of time,

Long I for endless days!
