The Moment

– but a second be –

Ye learn forever
Be but a second,
Tho endeavour
To find extend,
Be the moment
We fix pretend,
In prolong time
Albeit beckons,
To expand clock
Ye gods do lend,
We reckon mock
As would eternal,
Beyond instant
Of kept normal,
As said forever
Held in thought,
Fate opts clever
Set close to lost,
Blink of an eye
Nay to be found,
One day or other
For ye’d be gone,
After the moment
Ne’er meant long,
Those waning days
Fixate a mind to see,
Of set persistent way
Has but the moment be!

A Little More Time

A Little More Time

 – if but to mark mine –

A little more time
To recall a mood
I’d left behind,
When early in life
If but mark mine,
To allow for strife …

A little more time
To live with candour,
Discover my other,
Whom I’d forsaken
In visions of grandeur…

A little more time
To shake free of talk
That life offers blindly,
Overriding the clock…

A little more time
To share a measure
Of neglected kindness,
And taste the pleasure
Of compassionateness…

A little more time
To recapture the scent
Of evocative memories,
With all of their follies
Life chose to be meant
If need be to mark mine!

Autumn Leave – on a shivery eve –

Listen to audio

Autumn Leaves

– on a shivery eve –

As autumn leaves,
Shadows fall
On a shivery eve,
While mind recalls
Obscuring shades,
I’m made to feel
While vista fades,
A summer’s peal
Nature betrays,
Once sun filled days…
Thus autumn leaves
My soul behind,
A summer hostage
Of plead declined
To keep alive
Fair weather skies,
And butterflies …
Soon winter’s blast
Will cast a haze,
To chase the last
Of autumn days,
And scattered leaves
When Frost said Jack,
Will come awake
In a world near grey,
To soon blustery wakes…
Tho I’d turn back
Fall season’s clock,
Nature chose cold
As its mortal mock,
To oblige Thanatos
Who will now wrest,
Fall season’s soul
As autumn leaves,
To soon make way
For a winter’s hold!

“ Held Instant ” ~ on life’s clock ~

Held be instant

On life’s clock,

Prods the infant

Time finds stalk,

Till soul senescent

Begs for distance,

That lessens load

Of aging baggage,

One need dispose

To bury ravage,

Excesses imposed

Of borne instants,

Living composed!

“ An Instant ” ~ nudges held distant ~

There’s an instant

In man’s life clock,

Nudges held distant

Thus to take stock,

Of his ebbing time

The gods but mock,

His maturing soul

Would incite mind,

To divest his whole

Of accumulated finds,

While then given bold

Hence till fate decrees blind,

To adversely admit hedging old!

                                                 You’ve no need to wonder,

                                                                you just wait your turn…

“ A Memorable Stay ” ~ shades of an instant ~

You’ll find a bend

In the road ahead,

Should you intend

Muse in its stead,

Thus so to ponder

If you have stock,

Suffice grants a stay

Affords a fading clock,

Extends reach yonder…

If fate finds lend

This road gives way,

To live beyond

Prescribed advent,

Thinks worth amend

To this found journey,

Held a memorable stay

Though an hour or a day,

Portend shades of an instant!

“ Another Yesterday ” ~ too soon ~

Ah yesterday,

You’re there

Once more

Too soon,

Before the day

Has barely gone,

The while I want

For just a bit

To carry on,

Before day’s end,

Tho I should fuss

To turn the clock

It pays no mind

My want expend,

That I might find

How best to give,

A full share’s worth,

Of I’ve to live

And well before

I’m made to taste,

Another yesterday!
