“ Right of Choice ” – for good or bad –

You’d come to be

Aware of options,

That set you free

Of blind caution,

A right of choice

To take a chance,

Albeit with degree

Of failed advance,

Stolid to repartee

Of critic endured,

In this stage of life

Bordering mature,

When chances rife

Tho ne’er assured,

Be for good or bad

Ye can’t fail but see,

That a right of choice

Forever belongs to me!

“ Courage ” ~ to take a chance ~

You imagine

With but a glance,

Find courage

To take a chance,

Thus grab hold

Of wont so bold,

That by and by

Propensity

Will defy,

Hereafter bound

To occupy,

A life once lived

On dead man’s ground!

“ What Chance ” ~ for life ahead ~

The die was cast

We’d live a time

But could not last,

In this world stead

We’d pushed so fast

For life ahead,

That might’ve been

What so misled,

We’d end beyond

The too far past,

To fix the wrongs

Of what we’d left,

Thus so chose blind

And visionless,

To what man blurred,

As legacy of cries unheard,

For that of a dead grey world!
