“ We The Homeless ”

       – not by choice – revisited

It’s not by choice,

We’ve but the street

For our new host,

In this life gone bleak

It be thus a last resort,

Begs we’d not seek

Wanting as consort,

Held so to speak

Apt be a gritty ghost,

Led we live incomplete

Having lost one’s voice,

Mindful of our fate

Now being without choice,

In a discombobulated state

That be life on the street,

The while this last resort

Be until we are too weak,

To drag our bones to port

In a life of empty options,

That be for we the homeless,

Held fixed to muted notions

Reduced we be to nameless,

Drifting in crowded sad seclusion

We’ve to live as shadows on the street…

Suffer alas said we the homeless

In a populous fashioned by human apathy,

Offered in overwhelming abundance

To a growing number of ignored failed voices…

We the homeless, not by choice!

“ Realism ” ~ of vague define ~

Why so strive,

Ne’er knowing

If attempts

At realism

Will survive,

Thus so to find

A pragmatic

State of mind,

Treats no offers

Of dubious tempt

Or bleak design,

As sad enactments

Of relics in erst time,

For reality we seek

Ever suffers vague define,

Yet we’ll persist

In spite of every miss!

“ The Unbearable Silence ” ~ of Charlie Hebdo ~

They draw the lines
In twists and shapes,
That means depict
Bleak minds to face,
In wearying state
Of fanatical politics,
And religious fakes
Of profiteering prophets,
In varied shades extremist
All would be fodder
For satirical exposure,
Decries need for disclosure
By impish mind humorists,
Who forever meant persist
Save for life they gave,
Yet will ne’er be made silent
For they’ll speak from the grave!

ode to Charlie Hebdo’s of the world,
they to be missed departed satirists,
of freedom of expression,
who would not be silenced!

They would not be silenced!
By religious, political and ideological extremists, and exclusionary nationalism…

In homage to the satirical free speech and liberty
of expression exponents. We honour the stalwarts
of Charlie Hebdo, and fellow artists throughout the world!

These are the men who, for their satirical humorous insight,
were cowardly gunned down by the fanatics of so called
twisted religious dictates, with which no prophet would
associate.

We mourn these raconteurs and exponents of freedom of expression.
May their memory live on as a symbol of freedom that is not negotiable.

“ Memory ” ~ of a memory ~

Memory, ah memory

Now cause for woes,

Has turned tormentor

And wretched close,

Alludes suffers bleak

This recall once bold,

As mentor grows weak

While in vain I yet seek

Tho memory goes cold…

Now who’ll replace

This recollect trace,

That I may survive

The far reaching void,

And reason with time

Holds sane my mind,

Though the memory

Of memory once mine,

May well ever be gone!

“ Obesity ” ~ a corpulent world ~

I can but wonder,

How so composed

Without concern,

Fate should impose

Thus so to suffer,

Man failed put term

To obesity’s torture,

And so I ponder

This hapless burden,

Lived with adversity

In a corpulent world,

Where we offer but pity

Alas to a bleak obesity!
