“ Life ” ~ be but a minute ~

As journey’s impart

Finds  compose,

A life held chart

Of  fading echoes,

Images seek focus

On a wistful past,

As recall delves

In dormant baggage,

Where marks a start

Of minute’s living,

Which is to be our life…

As life be but a minute

I’ve no time left to waste,

So overlook my rancour

If you crowd my space,

Or find ye be  anchor

In my short-lived race,

Tho I sound rather terse

I’m not without candour,

So empathize my strife

For with so little time,

I’ve reason to make haste…

I might have shown fear

Or shed a meagre tear,

To decelerate the process

That fixed  fall’s arrival,

In the wake of all that dies

As will a prized September,

Thus with all it finds allied

Seek peace with December,

For soon you’re gone to rest

To lie neath earthen blanket,

Should minute’s life end next!

“ To Start Again ” ~ in step ~

To start again

Now once in step,

Right from the crib,

What we did live,

Should risk we cart

Our puerile baggage,

Fixed to the heart

Like tattoo marks

Will trace the scars

Of naive follies,

When careless days

Meant living lies

That eased the way,

To so one day

Give of the spin

Said layers a mind

Of ventures worth

Might grow us wise,

In step this time

Without reprise,

To start again!

“ The Innocent ” ~ till time so states ~

A fleeting gift

While unaware,

The innocent

Evolves impaired,

As impotence

Offers till then,

Brief liberty

One lives in bliss

Of ignorance,

To adolescence

When time states,

Life’s baggage

So accumulates,

Thus having felt

The telling kiss

Of omnipotence,

Obliterates recalls

Of innocence,

Made destined to be lost!

“ An Image ” ~ in shades and shadows ~

I see an image,

Once hidden

In shades,

And shadows

Meant hide

Worrying age,

Be now a clear visage

Free of held habit,

And enduring baggage

Of onerous adage,

Finds burden we carry

Like unwanted weight

Of rapacious feed,

Shapes image needs

For shades and shadows!
