“ A Loaf of Bread ” ~ a jug of wine, and thou ~

Held loaf of bread,

A jug of wine

And thou he’d said,

Be propitious find

Tho but line I read,

Fixed state of mind

Tho barb now dead,

Lived poetry’s sage

Long ago far ahead,

Of creation engaged

Tho of ancient past,

Did inspire persuade

Every nuance he cast,

Be a tableau each page

Stated words of Khayyâm!

“ Years Ahead ” ~ not an indifferent kiss ~

Years ahead to come

Ought give a choice,

More so than some

Rushed thru past life,

Without it lend a voice

To moderate the pace,

Blind so to fleeting time

Was forever on the run,

In its sad habitual chase

Of accepted rush to wait,

Living in a moribund way

As tho life be but sorry gift,

Akin to an indifferent kiss!

“ What Chance ” ~ for life ahead ~

The die was cast

We’d live a time

But could not last,

In this world stead

We’d pushed so fast

For life ahead,

That might’ve been

What so misled,

We’d end beyond

The too far past,

To fix the wrongs

Of what we’d left,

Thus so chose blind

And visionless,

To what man blurred,

As legacy of cries unheard,

For that of a dead grey world!

                                                                             ode to man’s final legacy

“ Mindful ” ~ in my sleep ~

I’m mindful

In my sleep,

Though I know

It’s not unique,

To thus recall

While part dead,

Afflicted all

Held as we sleep,

Be ones stead

Hence so to reap,

What lies ahead!
