I Awake
– should fate so will –
That I awake Another day, To live a fate With little say, Save to amend My errant way, Before the end Thus to renew, As to contend Said life anew, The while fend As destine wills, But a scant stay… Time tallies still Tho be few days, For failing gods Now dated skills, Tend fall behind Too aged to fulfil, In garbled minds Verge on placate, Yet decreed still Our waning state, Hence so fate's will! © Jean-Jacques Fournier

Should date so will that I awake… very humbling words.
Thanks Paulette, tho I must admit, date, is far more easy to contend with than fate, for the later is the provenance of the gods, whereas “date” has been left to simple citations such as I, all quite easily manœuvrable to accommodate this not so easy demanding world. Date does however inspire another reflection!
A very interesting discussion on free will versus determination and fate. Always a joy to stop by….
Thank you, Rebecca, for your undying interest and as always your touching acknowledgement, ergo said joy being mine as well for your ongoing support of my scribbles. Your a good friend, Charlie Brown!
