Painting A Mind

– shadows dark –

Be hollows stark
Painting a mind,
In shadows dark
To survive time,
Be need of world
Best ne’er blind,
As creatures we
Given short line,
Expecting future
Soon fades offline,
Will want a tutor
For make believe,
Set as fake humans
Be computer achieved,
Save a life’s meagre race
Holds no reason to grieve,
With compos mentis in place
Ye ought find painting a mind
Seeks not dark shadows embrace!

A Man

A Man

– called Marc –

He’d not stay long,
In life’s short run
Be too soon gone,
As if one shunned
To an early dawn,
From a place won
In a shortish song,
He as a brother be
Far too young gone,
Gods fixed not see,
As life span of a pawn
Alas was short-lived run
Thus, alike an early dawn!
                   Might you have parted
                               without telling your friend,
dear Marc, until it was too late…?

Ode, two scores late, for the passing
of Marc Tetreault, the rarest of dear friends.

PS: If there should be an afterlife or such a thing as a next life,
Marc is the one true friend I would seek to befriend again.

Wanting

– to know why –

Would it matter,
Wanting
To know why,
If one didn’t
Get an answer,
Having thought
To wonder,
Ought question
Mental wrought,
Find whether
Trouble ought,
Tho no longer
Above water,
While persists
Probe forever,
One considers
Being clever,
Mightn’t ever
Learn reply,
Wanting
To know why,
Best be left
Without an answer!

A Tree

A Tree

  – more, than ye see –

Were destined a tree
With limited motion,
Found as ye can see
For inevitable notion,
Man has set as decree
With thin emotions,
He’d quickly decried
In veiled pretentions,
The cut down applies
To fit implementation,
Thus, more than ye see
In self-serving function,
As death sanctioned tree
Feign a minor intrusion,
Tho forever means suffer
Yet devoid of redemption,
Save ye find man will offer
Bears a tree more, than ye see!

Living Alive

        – worth for the while –

It takes a while
To finely realize,
You’d been asleep
Oblivious to alive,
Whilst ye be replete
For an apposite revive,
Ought so find entreat
Be of worth for the while,
Thus as acquiescent treat
Fixates so to be living alive!
	                 ode to still being alive…

A Question

            – of chance –

If we could see
All at one time,
One’s life to be
Held its incline,
Worthy to see,
Thus as defined
Tho but one day,
Would ye agree
To propose play,
In a fixed degree
Find matter of say,
As a fitting choice
To apply hold sway,
A question of chance
May enlighten the way!

The Face

     – in inure place –

by Boris Grigoriev

Listen to audio

The Face

– in inure place –

I see the face,
Now as in life
In inured place,
Eased of strife
To rid of waste,
As dubious rife
In rawest sense,
Like stiletto knife
Inflicts offence,
To callous tense…

As face reflects
A raced journey,
Creates an image
To fixate markedly,
Begs want end travel
Of memories passing,
Finds scold bold arrival
Of phantoms trespassing,
As tho one’s fate be trivial
In the face of an inured place,
The gods rendered us negligible!
