The Why – of it all –

The Why

– of it all –

 Me, myself
 And I,
 On the shelf
 Ye ask why,
 Of it all
 Tho once shy,
 Not the lot
 Yet disguised,
 Or for naught
 Saves one aim,
 To but hide
 Insecure,
 Be underside
 Awaits cure,
 To so bide
 Asks the why,
 Of it all
 Has one cry,
 May find resolve!

    a simple aide-mémoire
        to remember Conversations,
save not of the kind to be mistaken
with that of Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem line,
“Ours not to reason why, ours but to do and die”

The Stars – a poem –

The Stars

You’re reaching

For the stars,

The symbolism

Of all isms,

On a starry night

Your dream

Starts on its flight,

Thus so thru stardust

That seems in sight,

Tho fate assigns

Its ray of light,

For wishful thinking,

And fantasy’s survival!

Ode to the survival of sanity’s dreams …

“ The Art of Aging ”

            – man’s eschatology –

 Age has you feel
 The consequence,
 Of thinned conceal
 By a starved brush,
 Upon your person
 Wants but to instil
 A sense of rush,
 The while reward
 Be to lay shades,
 In wisdom’s colours
 On its aging canvas
 Begs innate candour...

 Thus so you know
 Life lends redress,
 To shadowed greys
 Of life’s excesses,
 Will shape in part
 What age expresses...

 Hence of bold lines
 Carved so by time,
 Some even apropos
 Meant not unkind,
 To one’s tableaux
 That age defines,
 While time directs
 You suffer decline,
 Yet holds respect
 For the art of aging,
 Alas be man’s eschatology!

Overload – the poem –

Overload

          – the poem –

We now have a world

Fixed as a solace trap,

Well hidden in disguise

Its flow of pollution sap,

Be default of awareness

For humans’ endurance,

Of distribution overload

In a lethargic sufferance,

The while its viewed extent

Be our deteriorating sanity,

By the hands of greedy bent

Of indifferent mental apathy,

Is overloading man’s capacity!
