The life & times
Of Genghis then…
He’d leap so high
To chase what flies,
Till one day found
What caught his eye,
Far from the edge
Would find him plunge
Four stories down,
Below his spying ledge…
Genghis that cat
Wouldst then survive,
But three more days
From fatal dive,
Sad to compile
Eleven months
Of his nine lives,
Hunting what flies
Alas that cat would leap
No more, nor jump or jive,
Through eight more lives!
an old debt I owed,
ergo ode to Genghis, Kallista’s twin,
and short time family member
What a beautiful ode to Genghis, Jean-Jacques… alas his name made him think he’s invincible!
Thanks again Marina… Good point, however not quite as far sighted as the original Genghis in his daring I’m afraid, much to our chagrin I might add. Jean-Jacques
A beautiful homage to Genghis. ❤
Thank you dear friend…! Jean-Jacques
I find that cats have two wonderful gifts: resilience and audacity. A marvelous ode to Genghis!!!
Thanks again… You’re right on both counts, and maybe because of these characteristics they stay with you, at least in your thoughts, pleasantly so indefinitely. Jean-Jacques
You always make my day!!!!
What a generous response Rebecca, and an additional rewarding reason for me to have recorded the passing of a fellow creature. Jean-Jacques
