“ If Only ” ~ wishful thinking ~

If only

Wishful thinking

Evidenced an inkling

Of probable reality,

Mightn’t so endorse

That of every wish

Held dreamers,

Be credible of course,

Save the odd amiss

Finds wasted time,

For likely be but myths

Of disquieting design…

If only

Suffering wants,

Said wishful thinking

Be thus understood,

One may not opt bidding

For mind game’s likelihood!

“ No Man’s Land ” ~ a child legacy ~

Who will survive

No man’s land,

Of coerced minds

Duping fellowman,

Into hapless decline,

Thru polluted valleys

Oozing insecticides

And tar-sand’s ride,

Ever fouling water,

Life for sons

And daughters,

With creatures’ toil

Equilibrating nature

For nutritive soil,

Meant for all derive

To simply stay alive,

Hence a child’s legacy

If earth can survive,

In this no man’s land!

“ Looking ” ~ from inside out ~

Looking

From inside out,

I see a face

Has me in doubt,

Though I know

It’s me inside and out,

I fail discern

This face be so,

As one I’d worn

The many years

Since I was born…

As lines of time

In crags so shape,

Thus bared façade

Conjures adverse,

Allows one see

Life be perverse…

Hence though I gaze

With woeful eyes,

The while I fantasize

At once arresting face,

Now to imagine wise

Mind so disguised

That I should visualize,

Looking from outside in!

“ A Corner ” – of my heart –

There’s a corner

Of my heart,

Be a place to store

Memories want kept,

The kind to not regret,

A place I tend to go

To face the real

Places one suffers

At times surreal,

We may be inclined,

To the like forget…

Reflections now

Be memories scattered,

Relinquish few regrets

Necessitate reprieve,

None that could yet

From that corner

Of my heart

Hold I’d take leave,

To put my soul at rest!

“ Laughter ” ~ feeds the soul ~

I want to laugh

In potions ample

That it should last,

To encourage

Thusly bold,

Fellow beings

Who’ve to learn

Be laughter

Feeds the soul,

And lessens thus

The morose pique

Of anxious matters,

Inciting as a must

The constant lifeline,

Of enduring laughter!
