If you should look
Beneath the surface,
You’ll see likeness
Didst hardly fade,
Despite time past
Held so its shade,
Though failed spare
Held masquerade,
Altering whole
The sum’s façade,
While signs of ware,
Offers but a shadow
Of my enduring soul!
Very moving poem about inner beauty….Kallista in Greek …
Thank you for that, and your reference to Kallista in Greek, meaning inner beauty, and that this coincidentally happens to be one of our cat’s name, make the reference in a way only half right, as it applies to our Kallista for she has both inner and contrary to we humans her exterior beauty will not ever noticeably change. Lucky her I suppose. Jean-Jacques Fournier
Agree with Marianne’s comment. This is a lovely poem.
Thank you Paulette… for the very nice compliment on this little, yet large poem as to its intention. Jean-Jacques Fournier
