“ Beyond Reach ”

I can still hear

A distant voice,

Slowly fading

Beyond reach,

Now worried so

The voice be mine,

And though I shout

None will appear

Nor even care,

Hence feign not hear

I am still there,

Yet I can see

Their presence be

Near everywhere…

They turn their back

Though well aware,

Their presences here

Can thus be felt,

Though without fear

Would but deny,

Their harried truth

Iniquitously masked

Behind uncaring sneers…

Meant to deceive

They scurry

To gain distance,

Thus to abate

The sound of voices

That cry for help,

For silence be

The welcome ally,

Vocal outrage

Time will buy,

Till human interest

Be news of old,

And such concern

Soon beyond reach!
